O Goddess of ranga(dance floor), victory to thee. Thou art patron of the actor-class, the embodiment of the joy accruing from Psychological states(bhaavas) and Sentiments (rasas), yours is the kalaa(art) that only can charm the whole world, Victory to thee.

This Shloka from the Abhinaya Darpana is very close to my heart since it beautifully encompasses my passion for dance as well as why I wanted to start Natya Samarpanam.
An unexpected beginning, but an intended journey.
Natyam has been my passion, and it has been exhilirating throughout my learning and performing. I believe Natyam sharpens and hones numerous skills for life, and paves a way of a fulfilling road for the pursuer. Added health benefits, technical and soft skills, I have had immense pleasure in witnessing my students from various walks of life, grow to heights as they take with them these very experiences.

MEET AND GREET
(About Natya Samarpanam)
Natya Samarpanam (Regd.) is a center for Dance, Music, and Yoga established in Chennai. The school was first started as 2 batches of informal dance classes by our Founder-Director-Acharya, Smt. Vanishree Ravishankar in the year 2003.
The school now inculcates a wholesome program rich in tradition adhering to tradition as well as the evolution. Students are given core Bharathanatyam training (practical and theory lessons) along with its allied subjects; Thalam, what Music is to Dance, Yoga for a Dancer, and such. Students participate in Natya Samarpanam's group productions, and via this they also learn what goes behind choreographies and compositions, the workings and behind the scenes of group productions from costumes to concepts and scripts to music, and lighting. Advanced students learn as part of their theory lessons, the history of Bharathanatyam in terms of literature and society.
The school encourages students to pursue Bharathanatyam and other fine arts along with their academic education as both are required to bring out the best interpersonal and professional skills. Education in any form (fine arts, science, economics, and every other domain) enriches life and the mind which is what we believe in Natya Samarpanam.
